Give your mind, body and soul a boost at Look and Feel Good Expo
From talks by the Mars/Venus relationship guru to workshops on meditation, yoga and life skills, the Look and Feel Good Expo, brought to you by SABC 2 and taking place at Johannesburg’s Coca-Cola Dome from 9 to 11 October 2009, offers an array of activities designed to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing.
The Look & Feel Good Expo has a line-up of top local and international experts to coach you along life’s often rocky road, with the focus on health, wellness, the environment and beauty.
During the Minute Maid Health & Wellness Workshops, health and wellness experts will be on hand to dispense advice on how to think and live optimally in the 21st century.
Dr John Gray, best-selling American author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, will be giving three relationship workshops during the expo. Booking for these in-demand talks is essential.
Other local and international life skills experts will be on hand to discuss topics such as art psychotherapy, changing your mindset to change your life, how to achieve happiness, how to manage your energy and get the most out of every day, overcoming obstacles to success, the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle, interactive music and performance therapy, how to build personal resilience, meditating while engaging in activities such as dance or martial arts, intuitive reflexology, personal empowerment, feeding your pets wholesome food, and general yoga and meditation workshops.
There will be yoga demonstrations by the country’s most experienced instructors, in disciplines such as Bikram Yoga, Living Yoga Flow and Kundalini Yoga.
Sure to be a hot favourite is the Spa Association pavilion, where various spa treatments will be available, enabling visitors to indulge in a mini-pamper, recharge the batteries and take in the rest of the expo feeling refreshed and revived.
On the food side, head to The Star’s Angela Day Kitchen to watch top chefs in action as they whip up a range of dishes – including healthy recipes that don’t compromise on taste. With the gastric juices gurgling, head to the Boost Juice Feel Good Health Bar for a delicious low-fat smoothie, juice, crush or “hottie”.
A trend that is catching on like wildfire globally is laughter therapy, and at Ha Ha Health’s Feel Good Joy Gym you can learn how to laugh yourself happy – and healthy!
The acclaimed Terenzo Hair Salon will also be on site to conjure the perfect pick-me-up hairstyle that’ll leave you looking and feeling like a million bucks. Then check out the Imedeen Anti-Ageing Clinic for a complimentary skin consultation.
Odyssey magazine will be screening DVDs with inspirational themes revolving around the body, mind and soul at the Wholistic Living Cinema, while the body beautiful will be on show at the Fitness Zone – featuring fitness, dance, aerobatic and gymnastics displays under the Mr and Ms Fitness SA Pageant banner.
A highlight of the three-day event is bound to be the Renaissance Eco House – a fully sustainable, environmentally-friendly house that will be purpose-built for the expo and will house a variety of healers who will be available to conduct readings and provide guidance. Miss Earth will also be on hand to help drive home the “green” message.
