EFC AFRICA shortlisted in Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards
Johannesburg (South Africa) – In recognition of their growth and success over the last 12 months, EFC AFRICA have been shortlisted in the category “Sport Brand of the Year” at the 2012 Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards. The 2012 awards will be the second edition of an event that brings together the leading minds and personalities in the South African sporting industry.
The sport of professional mixed martial arts has been taken to new levels by EFC AFRICA in South Africa and on the continent, and in doing so, EFC AFRICA have established themselves as the premier MMA promotion on the African continent.

Canterbury, Nike, SuperSport, the Blue Bulls and the Sharks are the other brands that have been nominated alongside EFC AFRICA in the Sport Brand of the Year category.
EFC AFRICA as a business continues to grow and innovate. The past year has seen many highlights on a commercial front, including securing a broadcast agreement with e.tv, which takes EFC AFRICA into 49 countries across the African continent; securing a broadcast agreement with FX Africa, a subsidiary of Fox International Channels, which further enhances EFC AFRICA’s reach in Africa; licensing an official EFC AFRICA clothing range; and broadcasting live events online and through Nu Metro Cinemas. EFC AFRICA is backed by corporate sponsors such as MusclePharm, Jaco Clothing and SONDAG and has created a platform for corporates to access the passionate mainstream MMA fans. The ever-improving quality of the overall EFC AFRICA experience has seen audiences grow, increased media coverage and brand awareness.
