TWENTY of South Africa’s top riders and finest horses will compete for the inaugural Equestria Indoor Showjumping Championship title.
It is a new concept in family entertainment, that promises to be a Christmas extravaganza of fantasy and whimsical displays with an array of speed and showjumping events of international standard. It will be presented annually at that time of the year and will be on par with shows in the United States, United Kingdom and Europe.
An exhibition in the Coca-Cola Dome will coincide with the horse show, offering the local equestrian industry a showcase for its clubs, companies and products. An estimated 14 000 spectators and 160 VIP guests will attend this three-day event. There will also be the Elves Christmas Village Market where shoppers can buy hand-crafted and other exclusive gifts.
Each live performance will be crowned with entertaining supporting acts in the build-up to the grand finale – the arrival of Santa Claus in a dazzling horse and dog pantomime.
Breathtaking events will also include a new routine by the ever-popular Lipizzaners, a real children’s fantasy in the Shetland ponies and impressive agility classes for dog lovers to enjoy. A special equestrian fancy-dress event should also delight young and old.

Nutriphase will be sponsoring the Dynamic Dog display that will take place every day. Come and clap to the dancing dogs and watch as the agility champions compete for the title.
An Elves Christmas Village is another feature that should prove a big drawcard for festive season shoppers. There will be exclusive hand-crafted trinkets and imported merchandise to choose from to fill Christmas stockings with.
Booking opens at Computicket on 15 September. Seats are limited and members of the public are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.
