CHRISTINA AGUILERA, will be a special guest during the Altech South African Grand Prix week, which will includes her first appearance in South Africa at the ''Unite of the Stars''' banquet at the Coca Cola Dome on 9th November. 94.7 Highveld Stereo's Finest Jocks and Christina will host this Dazzling dinner in support of two of South Africa's worthiest charities : The Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund and Unite Against Hunger. This dinner is an integral part of the Altech Grand prix festivities from 4-11 NOVEMBER which will host some the worlds greatest sports Formula 1 World champions and entertainment Celebrities.
Multiple Grammy Award-winning recording artist Christina Aguilera boasts one of the most powerful and distinctive voices of her generation. Aguilera co-wrote and co-produced her latest album Stripped, which has sold over 12 million albums worldwide. It features five hit singles, including the inspirational anthem “Beautiful,” which earned Aguilera a Grammy for Best Pop Female Vocal, the singers fourth Grammy Award.

Bursting on to the musical landscape in 1999, Aguilera’s highly successful self-titled debut album went on to sell over 16 million copies. Unite Against Hunger is a Crisis Food Relief program spearheaded by food giant Tiger Brands, feeding in excess of 20 000 children every day. One of the feeding schemes it serves is the African Children’s Feeding Scheme in Soweto.
The Unite of The Stars Gala Banquet that is being held at the Coca-Cola Dome November 09. That defining moment is about to happen again for violin virtuoso Lucia Micarelli who performed last year with Josh Grobin on his sold out concert tour of South Africa. Classically trained, with grounding in everything from jazz combos to orchestral rock, Lucia has already earned a large and loyal following as the lead violinist and concert master in singing sensation Josh Groban’s touring ensemble. Throughout the tour, the young musician has been receiving standing ovations and wide acclaim, as mentioned in the Arizona Daily Star: “Micarelli was Groban’s duet partner several times, her violin acting as her voice. Barefoot, she strolled the stage with the grace of a ballet dancer, playing with equal parts passion and ferocity.”
But even her show stopping live performances can’t prepare the uninitiated listener for the stylistic diversity and consummate creative flair of Music From A Farther Room, her dazzling debut album on 143/Reprise Records, executive produced by Josh Groban. The incredible range and eclecticism of this New York born, Hawaii-raised artist is evident from the first glance at the track listing. Recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, Music From A Farther Room is a widespread soundscape in which David Bowie, Sibelius, Astor Piazzolla and Rodgers & Hart blissfully coexist. Collaborating with exceptional talent from a number of different genres, Lucia showcases her musical diversity – a gorgeous original from Grammy-winning composer David Foster, the traditional Irish folksong “She Is Like The Swallow” (boasting vocals by Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer); and a reflective duet with world-renowned pianist Lang Lang. Eventually returning to New York, she enrolled in the pre-college division of the famed Julliard School of Music, where she became active in the local jazz and rock scene even as she focused on her burgeoning career in classical music.
