LG XPO extreme sports fever set to take the Coca-Cola dome by storm

The LG XPO and Xtreme Sports Show – Africa’s premier extreme sports extravaganza – has something to offer to all adrenalin sports addicts with a 14 international stars set to put the local heroes to the test, at the Coca-Cola dome, Northgate from November 4-6.

Yamaha Red freestyle motocross stars Werner ‘the Flying Dutchman’ van der Merwe, Gavin ‘Mad Cow’ Cowley and Cape Town-based Juan du Plooy will be rev-ing their 250cc engines to the maximum in search of word ranking points when national pride goes on the line against four international superstars in the LG FreeStyle Motocross World Invitational.

Chilling conditions can also be expected with two Swiss snow boarding superstars will play their part in turning the LG XPO into the talk of the town – as the extreme sports showpiece makes a return to the Coca-Cola dome after a year in the outdoors at the Kyalami Raceway.

Skateboard mania will reign supreme with Will Twala, Mare Badenhorst out to keep the SA flag flying briskly against two top international stars, while five-time SA champion Dylan Victor and undefeated Namibian star Brian Weaver will be out to thrill the crowds on the trial mountain bike and freestyle mountain bike fronts respectively.

Add in the rollerblading skills of Morgan ‘DJ Switch’ van Staden and the foot up bike technique of Brian Capper and the sky is the limit as far as action-packed adrenalin rush entertainment is concerned.

LG XPO and Xtreme Sports Show organiser Leandro le Roux said that extreme sports enthusiasts will get their chance to partake in the action, with a quad bike course, boldering, scooter cross route and rap jumping equipment, open for use for the young and not so young of heart.
“The LG XPO and Xtreme Sports Show at the Coca-Cola dome, Northgate is the home the ultimate adrenalin rush experience, with extreme sports participants and fans from SA, neighbouring countries and abroad set to partake or witness the best extreme sports action ever seen on the African continent,” said le Roux.
“Extreme sport has taken off in the previously disadvantaged markets too, and many athletes of colour such as Germiston-based Will Twala and Lucky Ngubane from Fourways, near Johannesburg have come through the ranks to become extreme sports role models in their respective communities.”
